Driving Change: Apply for Grants from the MSMS Foundation

The Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Foundation serves as the nonprofit charitable organization of MSMS and is dedicated to advancing the field of health for the public good.  The Foundation guides philanthropic efforts to strengthen the medical community and public welfare across Michigan.

Defining The Mission

The Foundation is committed to a clear and vital mission, focusing on key areas that support both the public and the medical profession:

  • Education and Research: Supporting professional and public health education, research programs, and health-focused projects.
  • Health Promotion: Encouraging the advancement of healthy lifestyles and the prevention, diagnosis, or cure of disease.
  • Physician Support: Providing critical support for physicians who may suffer from impairment.
  • Resource Management: Acting as a reliable resource for the administration and distribution of signature funds or bequests designated for special purposes.

Philanthropy is focused on projects meaningful to the medical profession, including developing future physicians, fostering physician leadership, and supporting the practice of medicine.  Community-based projects emphasize essential collaboration between physicians and community leaders.
