RESOLVED: That MSMS support efforts to improve mental health services in Michigan, including the Michigan House of Representatives bipartisan C.A.R.E.S. (Community, Access, Resources, Education and Safety) Task Forceā„¢s report on addressing mental health disparities in the state; and be it further RESOLVED: That MSMS consider supporting subsequent legislation and governmental programs that may come from the Michigan House of Representatives bipartisan C.A.R.E.S. (Community, Access, Resources, Education and Safety) Task Force report, including increased graduate medical education support for psychiatric resident training in underserved areas, increasing access to wrap-around services, and creation of a mental health resource hotline.
