RESOLVED: That MSMS support and promote the position of the American Academy of Pediatrics regarding the benefits of free play for children. REFERENCE COMMITTEE RATIONALE: The Committee heard consistent testimony in favor of this resolution which supports the concepts outlined in the American Academy of Pediatrics, Pediatrics Volume 119, Number 1, January 2007, “The Importance of Play in Promoting Healthy Child Development and Maintaining Strong Parent-Child Bonds.”
