The 2027 Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) membership renewal period is officially underway!
This year brings an important change to the membership structure. As approved by the MSMS House of Delegates, mandatory joint membership between MSMS and county medical societies has been eliminated.
Beginning with the year 2027 membership, physicians now have greater flexibility to choose the membership that works best for them. You may join MSMS only, your county medical society only, or both organizations.
What This Means for Your Renewal
Depending on your county medical society, you may receive separate invoices for your MSMS and county memberships. We encourage you to review your invoice(s) carefully and renew the membership(s) you wish to maintain.
While the membership structure is changing, the value of your MSMS membership remains the same. Your membership helps strengthen the collective voice of Michigan physicians and supports MSMS's work to:
- Advocate for Michigan physicians with state and federal legislators
- Address payer and practice challenges
- Protect the physician-led practice of medicine
- Provide FREE Continuing Medical Education and discounted practice resources
- Keep physicians informed, connected, and supported throughout their careers
