As a part of the Reorganization plan recently approved by the House of Delegates, the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Board of Directors is transitioning from 36 members to 13.
The House of Delegates passed bylaws changes that tasked a Nomination Committee to review and recommend a Board slate to membership. This is similar to the previous process when the county or region would nominate a Board member and the House would approve those recommendations.
After an open call to membership, MSMS received many outstanding applications and were highly impressed by the candidates’ qualifications and background. The Board of Directors Nominating Committee has carefully reviewed all applicants and has put forth a slate of recommended candidates based on exceptional qualifications, leadership experience, and dedication to our mission.
The Board of Directors Nominating Committee recommends the following slate for the 2026-2027 Board of Directors. As the President and President-elect were already elected by previous House of Delegates, the recommended slate is for 11. Members may vote for up to 11 candidates but are not required to cast all 11 votes. Voting will remain open from July 13 – July 25, 2026.
