Postponed: 2020 MSMS House of Delegates Meeting

In a March 25th email to delegates, the Michigan State Medical Society's Speaker of the House has officially postponed the MSMS House of Delegates.

Theodore B. Jones, MD, said "based on the Governor’s executive orders and the CDC’s recommendations, the House of Delegates meeting on April 25-26, 2020, in Dearborn, is officially postponed. We will be waiting to make any decisions regarding rescheduling until after the COVID-19 crisis passes. It seems almost impossible to predict the next 48 hours, let alone the next three months. Please be assured, when the time is appropriate, delegates, officers, Board members, and counties will have the opportunity to provide input into the next steps.

"If you already made reservations for yourself, you will need to cancel those with the Henry directly at (888) 709-8081. There will be no cancellation fee.

"Elections will take place electronically at some point in the future. We will wait until delegates have the time and interest to focus on non-clinical activities. There will be ample notification. The voting process will be secure.

"Additionally, we still plan to post the resolutions online sometime in April. We will send a notification to all when they are available.
