MSMS is a plaintiff in the federal antitrust lawsuit alleging that MultiPlan (now Claritev) and several major health insurers worked together to suppress out-of-network reimbursement rates paid to healthcare providers.
The litigation continues to move forward, although there was no case management conference held in July. The next conference is scheduled on August 14, 2026. MSMS will provide members with another update following those proceedings.
In the meantime, the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) recently highlighted the growing momentum behind the case, including two favorable rulings for providers. The court rejected legal defenses aimed at limiting provider recovery and approved the addition of 17 more insurers as defendants, marking another significant step forward in the litigation.
Members who believe they may have been affected by MultiPlan's practices may still have the opportunity to pursue their own claims by reaching out to an attorney.
