MSMS STATEMENT: MSMS and Physicians Praise Governor and Lawmakers for Enacting Legislation that Lowers Prescription Drug Costs
The following is a public statement from Pino D. Colone, MD, president of the Michigan State Medical Society, in response Governor Whitmer signing House Bills House Bills 4348, 4351 and 4352—bipartisan legislation that lowers prescription drug costs for Michigan patients.
“MSMS and physician across the state applaud Governor Whitmer and Michigan’s lawmakers for the great work they have done to make prescription drugs more affordable for Michigan’s patients. In signing House Bills 4348, 4351 and 4352, Governor Whitmer has ushered in a new era of fairer pricing and greater transparency in Michigan’s prescription drug market, making it far easier for patients to afford and access the lifesaving medications their physicians have prescribed.
“Officially signing these bills into law is a fantastic—and much needed—win for health care providers and patients throughout the state.”
