MSMS Policy Forum – Coming in December

Engage with MSMS

As previously reported, the House of Delegates overwhelmingly passed the recommendations of the Reorganization Task Force. The Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) has been working over the last six months to implement these changes in a systematic and thorough manner that includes physician input and engagement. The new Board of Directors has been elected and met twice, the 2027 billing cycle has begun without requiring county medical society dues for MSMS membership, and the MSMS Foundation is in the process of reviewing county transition grants. The last piece is the transition from the House of Delegates to the all-member Policy Forum. The timing corresponds with the standard resolution calendar.

The new Policy Forum and Policy Committee will be rolled out in December. This will include the resolution submission process, which will remain the same; the online forum, which will also remain the same; and applications for the Policy Committee. Committee appointments will be finalized in February 2027. The first cycle of resolutions will begin in March 2027. The schedule of both resolution submission cycles is below.
