MSMS House of Delegates Update
The annual Michigan State Medical Society House of Delegates meeting is coming up on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1, 2022, at the Radisson Hotel in Kalamazoo. Please find several important updates below.
Mitigation Measures Survey: Attendees were surveyed in January regarding mitigation measures for the in-person House of Delegates. At that time, delegates voted overwhelmingly to require masks, proof of vaccination or negative test, health screenings, and social distancing. Your speakers committed to re-surveying delegates prior to the House if conditions changed. It seems appropriate to inquire again. Please complete the survey which is designed to assess your preferences for the 2022 House of Delegates.
House of Delegates Handbook: The official 2022 House of Delegates handbook is now available. The MSMS House of Delegates app will be available for free at the App store for both Apple and Android devices (search under “MSMS”) very soon.
Online Testimony Forum: To provide an additional opportunity for member input and to accommodate delegates who are not able or comfortable attending, MSMS will again allow written testimony prior to the meeting. Reference Committee testimony for the 60 resolutions can be submitted online until April 27, 2022. At that time, comments will be shared with the Reference Committees prior to the House. Delegates may access the online resolution forum at: https://msmshod.freeforums.net/
Meeting RSVP: It is even more important to indicate your attendance this year to allow for appropriate planning for social distancing and to assure a quorum. Please click here or visit msms.org/hod and complete the form to RSVP.
Hotel Reservations: If you are still in need of an overnight room please contact Beth Elliott, MSMS Meeting Planner, at 517-336-5789 to arrange for your hotel accommodations.
Should you have questions or concerns, please contact Rebecca Blake at (517) 336-5729.
