MSMS Foundation Selects Abstract Research Poster Competition Winners at ASM 2019
Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Foundation announced the awardees of the Rudi Ansbacher, MD, Clinical Vignettes for Medical Student and Resident Poster Competition and the Dorothy M. Kahkonen, MD, Memorial Award Poster Competition during the 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) in Novi, Mich. More than two dozen submissions were entered this year.
The research poster competition, now in its ninth year, provides residents, fellows, and medical students throughout Michigan an opportunity to present their medical and scientific research to the medical profession. "Each year over the past four years, I get more excited by the increased sophistication of the poster presentations," said David Walsworth, MD, 2019 ASM Planning Committee Chair. "This event demonstrates the very best of what medicine is and confirms health care is and will remain in good hands."

These awards honor the memory of distinguished physicians, Dorothy Kahkonen, MD, and Rudi Ansbacher, MD, by dedicating poster competitions in their names. Both physicians are former members and leaders of the MSMS and MSMS Foundation Board of Directors. Their lives touched many through long careers as a teachers, mentors, and clinicians.
