MSMS Foundation Monday Night Medicine Series

On Monday, October 4, as part of the MSMS Foundation Monday Night Medicine Series, Peter Knoester, MD, organized a panel discussion titled “Then when you know better, do better.” Next Step in the Journey of Dismantling Systemic Racism Within the Health Care System and Beyond.  Doctor Knoester is an anesthesiologist with Anesthesia Practice Consultants, where he serves the Grand Rapids community at anesthetizing locations within Spectrum Heath.  He is also a member of the Advisory Council for the Grand Rapids African American Health Institute.  Doctor Knoester is passionate about celebrating diversity and creating a more just, equitable, and inclusive society.  

Joining Doctor Knoester in this important discussion are Lisa Lowry, MD, MPH, CPE, FAAP, FSAHM, Assistant Dean for Diversity and Cultural Initiatives, MSU College of Medicine; Khan Nedd, MD, Founder and Chief Medical Officer, Infusion Associates; and Matthew Wixson, MD, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Anesthesiology, Associate Chair, Diversity, Michigan Medicine.  Theodore Jones, MD, Chair of the MSMS Task Force on Health Care Disparities, will moderate the discussion.
