Federal Information Blocking: What should I know and what to look out for?
Matt Reid, MS, Sr. Health IT Consultant, American Medical Association
Approved for .75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™
Last year the federal government released new rules and requirements on the access, exchange, and use of patients' electronic health information (EHI). The regulations prohibit information blocking and impact how physicians, hospitals, and EHR vendors send and receive EHI. Since April 15, 2021, physicians have been required to comply with these new policies. While the federal government has developed several FAQs, many questions still remain. Presenters will provide an update on the information blocking regulations, efforts that are underway to address physician questions and concerns, and what to look out for in the future.
