Michigan State Medical Society Alliance Names New 2021-2022 President
On Saturday, May 15, 2021, at their virtual Annual Meeting, the Michigan State Medical Society Alliance (MSMSA) announced Valerie (Val) Doane as their new President for 2021 - 2022. Val is the Executive Director for the Jackson County Medical Society where she supports more than 250 physicians. In addition to her duties as the Jackson County Executive Director she also co-manages her husband Robert Doane MD's, Orthopedic medical practice.
Volunteering and community involvement are fundamentals of Val's life. On Saturday she announced her partnership with Vista Maria. Vista Maria is on the forefront of advocating for the survivors of trafficking and against the perpetrators of this heinous crime and form of modern-day slavery. Vista Maria’s specialized intensive residential treatment programs for young women and girls are operated from our 37-acre Dearborn Heights campus in partnership with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Care Management Organizations and the court system.
The Michigan State Medical Society Alliance is an organization of physician spouses and partners, working together for the benefit of their communities, their families and the profession of medicine. The MSMSA is a vital link in the federation of medical spouses/partners nationwide, who strive to improve the health and life-styles of all citizens. The Medical Alliance at all levels (county, state and national) provides a forum for sharing information and concerns about the practice of medicine, the quality of health care and the stresses faced by the medical family. The Medical Alliance is dedicated to advancing the health of Michigan through advocacy and action.
