Michigan Joins the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission

In 2018 the Governor signed into law Public Act 524 of 2018 and Public Act 563 of 2018 which made Michigan a member of the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Commission (IMLCC). The compact allows physicians (both MDs and DOs) who are licensed in other compact member states the ability to get licensed easier in the State of Michigan based on having a compact license. It also allows Michigan physicians to get licensed in other compact member states.

Since the passage of this law the Bureau of Professional Licensing has been working with the IMCC to implement the program. As of Tuesday, September 24, 2019, Michigan physicians and physicians in other compact states will be able to take advantage of the IMLCC.

Attached is a frequently asked question (FAQ) document with information pertaining to the IMLCC. I would also encourage you to visit the IMLCC’s website (www.imlcc.org) for additional information.
