March 2026 Live Grand Rounds and Practice Management Webinars

Wednesday, March 4, the Michigan State Medical Society Foundation is hosting two live webinars, Pediatric Long COVID and Navigating Michigan Medical Licensure and CME.

Grand Rounds Webinar Series: Pediatric Long COVID*

From 12:00 – 12:45 pm, join Melanie Hoppers, MD, Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, Bateman Horne Center of Excellence, for a presentation on the effects of pediatric long COVID.

This presentation provides a comprehensive, clinically grounded overview of pediatric Long COVID and related post-infectious conditions.  Drawing on emerging research and years of clinical experience, Doctor Hopper reviews current definitions, prevalence, and risk factors for Long COVID and ME/CFS in children and adolescents, with particular attention to post-exertional malaise, orthostatic intolerance, and common comorbid conditions such as mast cell activation.  The session emphasizes practical diagnostic frameworks, evidence-informed management strategies, and accommodations that can improve function-based outcomes and quality of life for affected patients in pediatric and primary care settings.
