Kristi Hawley, DO, FAAD, Named New Chair of Michigan Doctors’ Political Action Committee
The Michigan Doctors’ Political Action Committee (MDPAC) is pleased to announce that Kristi Hawley, DO, FAAD, has been named its new Chair. A dedicated physician advocate and highly respected board-certified dermatologist, Doctor Hawley brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the role.
Doctor Hawley is the owner and founder of The Derm Institute of West Michigan, where she delivers cutting-edge care and personalized treatment to patients across the region. In addition to leading her private practice, she serves as the principal investigator for numerous clinical trials focusing on dermatologic conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and hidradenitis suppurativa. Her research contributions have been widely published, and her work continues to advance the field of dermatology.
A proud graduate of Ohio University, Doctor Hawley earned her degree in biological sciences with honors and received her doctor of osteopathy from Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her dermatology residency through the Oakwood/Beaumont program in Trenton, Michigan, affiliated with Michigan State University.
Doctor Hawley also serves as an associate clinical professor at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSU-COM), where she mentors and trains medical students and residents in both primary care and dermatology.
MDPAC, the political arm of the Michigan State Medical Society, is a bipartisan organization of physicians, medical students, and others dedicated to strengthening the voice of medicine in state politics. The committee supports pro-medicine candidates for the Michigan Legislature, Michigan Supreme Court, and other statewide offices.
With her passion for patient care, medical education, and physician advocacy, Doctor Hawley is uniquely positioned to lead MDPAC in its mission to protect and advance the practice of medicine in Michigan.
