Healthy People 2030 Seeks Public Comment on New Health Objectives

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is accepting public comments through July 16, 2026, on three proposed Healthy People 2030 objectives, as well as potential refinements to existing screen time objectives. These objectives focus on reducing delays in accessing mental health care due to cost, increasing the percentage of children who are developmentally on track and ready to learn when they enter school, and evaluating how referrals to non-clinical activities - such as art, music, movement, nature, and community service - may improve health outcomes.

The proposed objectives were developed by Healthy People 2030 workgroups and reviewed by the Healthy People Federal Interagency Workgroup. Stakeholder feedback will help inform the final objectives and guide national efforts to improve health and well-being over the remainder of the decade.

HHS is accepting written comments through 11:59 pm, July 16, 2026. All written comments must be submitted by email to HP2030Comment@hhs.gov. For complete details about this request for comments, please review the full Federal Register Notice (FRN).
