Healthcare on the Move: HIMSS Michigan Chapter 2025 Fall Conference

The HIMSS Michigan Chapter is bringing healthcare and technology leaders together this fall for its annual 2025 Fall Conference, “Healthcare on the Move,” happening September 8–9 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. This two-day event will showcase the latest innovations, strategies, and partnerships shaping the future of healthcare in Michigan and beyond. The Michigan State Medical Society has been a longtime supporter of MiHIMSS, with staff actively participating in its work, as their efforts to advance health IT and improve care delivery closely align with MSMS’s strategic priorities.

This year there will be a preconference session sponsored by MSMS for Physician Organizations to focus on data transparency and connectivity. It will include a keynote by incoming CEO, Isabell Pacheco, DSc, FACHE from Michigan Health Information Network Shared Services (MiHIN), followed by a panel discussion with physician organizations and payers from across the state. The day closes with a keynote presentation highlighting the State of Michigan Healthcare Providers Survey, followed by a networking reception and dinner.

The main conference delivers a full conference experience, starting with a keynote from Dr. Tricia Baird of Corewell Health on driving transformational change. The agenda includes a panel discussion with Corewell Health—recent recipients of the 2024 HIMSS Davies Award—sessions on enterprise virtual care, cybersecurity, EHR cloud migration, and a spotlight on Michigan tribal health initiatives. Attendees will also hear from health IT leaders during the HIT Commission Roundtable and HealthFocus session before the day concludes with closing remarks.
