Happy Match Week to All Graduating Medical Students!
As Match Week comes to a close, everyone at the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) would like to take a moment to wish all graduating Michigan medical students the very best of luck as they await the results of their residency placements. This week is a monumental step in every medical student's journey, filled with excitement, nerves, and anticipation. After years of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice, you are about to embark on a new chapter that will shape your future as a physician. Whether you match your top choice or embrace new opportunities, know that you have earned this moment and are ready to make a significant impact on the healthcare field.
Nick Bara, a third-year medical student at Michigan State University and MSMS Medical Student Section Governing Council Delegate and member of the Michigan Delegation to the American Medical Association, shared his thoughts on why he is passionate about pursuing a career in medicine:
“I love the idea of community and the humanity behind each and every one of the patients we treat. Treating and helping our community grow is one of the biggest points of life, in my opinion, and helping my community in this way has sort of driven me on this path toward accomplishing that goal of helping my fellow man but also helping our society itself be as healthy as it can.”
To all the graduating students at Michigan’s medical schools—congratulations on reaching this incredible milestone! Match Week is a celebration of your resilience, passion, and commitment to your profession. As you prepare for your next steps, remember that this journey is not just about the destination, but also the experiences and lessons you’ve gained along the way. No matter where you match, you are part of a community that is dedicated to improving lives and advancing the practice of medicine. Can’t wait to see where your path will take you. Best of luck, and Happy Match Week!
