Grand Rounds: State of Michigan Update from Natasha Bagdasarian, MD, MPH, FIDSA, Chief Medical Executive

On Friday, February 11 at 9:30 am, Natasha Bagdasarian, MD, Chief Medical Officer will provide an update on the status of covid-19 in Michigan.

She will include the state’s efforts to date and future plans for testing, therapies and vaccinations.

For the last year, Doctor Bagdasarian served the State of Michigan in the role of Senior Public Health Physician with the Department of Health and Human Services, where she oversaw the SARS-CoV-2 testing strategy for the state and helped bring rapid testing technologies to vulnerable populations.  Since early 2020, she has served as a consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO), providing technical guidance on outbreak preparedness and COVID-19.

Grand Rounds: Omicron and other Future Variants

On Wednesday, February 23, from 12:00 – 12:45 PM, Sandro Cinti, MD, Professor of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan will share his expertise and experience with the omicron variant including the epidemiology and clinical indications; and potential future variants.  Doctor Cinti is an expert in biodisasters and bioterrorism and has been part of biopreparedness efforts at the local, state, and national level.  He currently sits on multiple UM Hospital committees including the Disaster Committee, The Pandemic Influenza Committee, and he co-chairs the Scarce Resource Allocation Committee.
