Flint, Lansing area Physicians Re-elected as Chair and Vice-Chair of Michigan State Medical Society Board of Directors
Lansing and Flint area physician leaders were re-elected as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Michigan State Medical Society's Board of Directors during the 152nd annual meeting of the MSMS House of Delegates on May 6th in Grand Rapids.
Bobby Mukkamala, MD, a Flint otolaryngologist, was re-elected as Chair of the Board, and Anita Avery, MD, an obstetrician and gynecologist practicing in Lansing was re-elected as Vice-Chair.
The physicians will serve a one-year term heading the 36-member MSMS Board of Directors. The MSMS Board of Directors sets policies and oversees operations for the 15,000-member medical society headquartered in East Lansing.
Doctor Mukkamala, who earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, also serves on the board of the Crim Fitness Foundation in the Flint area and served as the past Chairman of the Community Foundation of Flint Board of Trustees.
Doctor Avery is a graduate of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine (MSUCHM). She practices obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive biology at Women's Health Care in Lansing and is an associate professor at MSUCHM.
