On March 11, 2026, in Lansing, the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) and its member physicians, residents, and medical students will talk with lawmakers about the future of healthcare. The day begins with a briefing on current legislative priorities, followed by small-group meetings with legislators or their staff. Participants receive background materials and talking points in advance so discussions are focused and impactful.
For many physicians, Advocacy Day provides a powerful look at how policy decisions shape clinical practice and patient care. As Kristi Hawley, DO, shared after attending last year, “If physicians aren’t at the table, who is making decisions on behalf of healthcare?”
With several important issues currently being debated in Michigan, including proposals related to Continuing Medical Education requirements and scope of practice, physician voices are essential to ensure policy reflects the realities of patient care.
Join colleagues from across the state and help represent the future of medicine in Michigan.
