The January 1, 2027, compliance deadline for certain requirements of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule (CMS-0057-F) is quickly approaching. The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) is seeking input from health care organizations, medical groups, and physician practices on their readiness to meet the new requirements. WEDI has launched its fourth Interoperability and Prior Authorization Readiness Survey to assess how prepared the health care industry is for implementation and identify challenges organizations may still be facing as the deadline approaches.
Physician practices and other impacted health care organizations are encouraged to participate and share their experiences. Responses are anonymous, and all results will be reported only in aggregate; no individual organization will be identified. Survey findings will be used to help develop recommendations for CMS, inform interested health care organizations about industry readiness, and guide WEDI’s development of additional education and resources to support implementation.
Organizations impacted by the CMS requirements are encouraged to participate and help ensure the physician and provider perspective is represented as the industry prepares for implementation.
