Ann Arbor Emergency Medicine Physician Brad Uren, MD, Elected Vice Chair of MSMS Board of Directors

Brad Uren, MD, an Emergency Medicine Physician, was elected to a one-year term as vice chair of the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Board of Directors during the MSMS Board of Directors meeting held in Dearborn on April 23rd. Uren was also elected as a regional director to the board, representing physicians from Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe and Washtenaw counties.

As Vice Chair of the MSMS Board of Directors, Dr. Uren will be responsible for helping to set policies and oversee operations for the Society. He will also preside over meetings of the Board of Directors in the absence of the Chair, Paul Bozyk, MD, and work closely with fellow Board members to advance the interests of MSMS members and the broader medical community.

Doctor Uren is a board-certified emergency medicine physician who currently serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan Medical School and as a clinical provider staffing the emergency department at the University of Michigan Hospital. 

Doctor Uren received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He is a past president of the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians (MCEP), a professional medical society representing 1,700 emergency physicians in Michigan. He has chaired committees at the state and national levels for both MCEP, the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), and the Michigan State Medical Society.  He is an inaugural member of the ACEP lead for an emergency physician grassroots advocacy network, The 911 Legislative Network.  

Doctor Uren is also president of the Washtenaw County Medical Society and is an active member of the American Medical Association.  He also serves as the vice chair of the Advocacy Committee of the American Heart Association of Michigan.
