Register today for the 158th Annual Scientific Meeting Virtual Monthly Series.   We have a fantastic monthly agenda with 7 sessions remaining for 2023.  This monthly evening virtual format will give attendees the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge clinical advances from local and national experts, from the safety and comfort of their homes via a laptop, desktop computer, tablet, or cellphone via Zoom.

Lifestyle Medicine: Patients, Pillars, Practice

Lifestyle medicine is a medical specialty that uses therapeutic lifestyle interventions as a primary modality to treat chronic conditions including, but not limited to, cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. This course will discuss how to incorporate the 6 pillars of Lifestyle Medicine into patient care to improve patient outcomes, reduce disease burden, prevent, and possibly reduce/reverse chronic disease.

After attending this presentation, learners will be able to:

  • Explain the current medical practice model and medical cost for disease management.
  • Describe lifestyle medicine and define the 6 pillars.
  • Discuss the evidence-based studies that show the positive results of implementing lifestyle medicine into practice.
  • Discuss ways to incorporate lifestyle medicine into your own practice.
