RESOLVED: That MSMS investigate creating an organized disaster response program to mobilize volunteer physicians, addressing such issues as identification, credentialing, transport, communication, liability coverage, and including the optimal role for both state and county medical societies, for disasters within Michigan and beyond.RATIONALE: The Committee had information that the Michigan Department of Community Health has launched the Michigan Volunteer Registry. It was suggested that a link to this registry be put on the MSMS web site.
