RESOLVED: That MSMS oppose any program that permits ocular surgery on patients by a clinician who has not completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) approved residency program; and be it further RESOLVED: That MSMS actively work with legislators to oppose the creation of alternative boards of surgery by organizations representing and credentialing non-physician providers to perform ocular surgery.
