RATIONALE: The Committee discussed that with the recent changes in the fluoridation standards and reduction of levels it could create a negative connotation towards the use of fluoride. Members of the Committee stressed the importance of the use of fluoride, especially with children and also rural areas (i.e. water wells), and that the support of the new standards should not just be at a state level but also on a national one.
