RESOLVED: That MSMS support and help draft legislation to amend the public health code to make expedited partner therapy legal in Michigan; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS support immunity from professional and civil liability if expedited partner therapy is provided according to the regulations.RATIONALE: The Committee considered overwhelming testimony in support of the concept and intent, and a suggestion from MSMS Legal Counsel that the second resolved should be amended to reflect a change that MSMS support immunity for physicians who wish to participate in this practice. The Committee agreed with the amendment.
