RESOLVED: That MSMS seek mandatary state registration and patching of all service animals and advocate that, similar to handicapped parking permits, such patches be valid for no more than five years for those with a physical impairment and for no more than two years for those with a psychological/psychiatrc impairment; and be it further RESOLVED: That MSMS seek legislative and/or regulatory changes that would allow the issuance of service animal patches only to service animal owners that have been certified by their physician or health care provider as needing a service animal.
