RESOLVED: That MSMS convene and work actively with diverse stakeholders in Michigan to identify potential sources of new revenues which can be earmarked to support a strong public health effort throughout the state, and develop and act on strategies to implement mechanisms to obtain such revenues, including, but not limited to, consumption taxes on items which have a potential negative effect on individual and community health such as alcohol and sugar-laden soft drinks.
