RESOLVED: That MSMS send a letter to the Environmental Protection Agency asking that the safe operation and required mitigation to the ethylene oxide sterilization process at the Sterigenics plant be made a priority while simultaneously ensuring that other sites are given the ability to make up the shortfall; and be it further RESOLVED: That MSMS send a letter to the American Medical Association and the Illinois Medical Association asking that they also petition the EPA to ensure that the ethylene oxide sterilization shutdown does not decrease the availability of critical and lifesaving procedures for patients across the area served by Sterigenics.

Fiscal Note: $1,000 or more as this resolution will require additional research and drafting of communications.
