Resolved Section(s):
RESOLVED: That MSMS, in cooperation with the Center for Disease Control, infectious disease experts, third party payers, Michigan Health and Hospital Association, and Medicaid Administration, promote an on-line CME activity for physicians and other healthcare providers that reviews vaccine preventable diseases, epidemiology, vaccine guidelines, and evidence- based responses to common anti-vaccine sentiments, along with tools for staff and patient education and support, that will be required for certifications, privileging and other mandatory credentialing, as appropriate for the physician’s specialty. RATIONALE: The Committee changed “develop” to “promote” so as to not put unnecessary burdens on any organization, and added the phrase “as appropriate for the physician’s specialty” to provide flexibility in the online program(s).
