RESOLVED: That MSMS oppose economic credentialing wherein physicians are denied participation in a plan or provider organization due solely to the total and/or per capita cost of care provided to their patients and when no attempt is made to determine the quality of the care or adherence to sound guidelines; and be it further RESOLVED: That MSMS seek legislation prohibiting the exclusion of physicians from participation in a health insurance plan or provider organization through economic credentialing, determined solely by the total and/or per capita cost of care provided to patients without an assessment of the quality of that care
