RESOLVED: That MSMS ask the insurance commission to require insurance companies to pay for procedures after they have been approved by the prior authorization process.REFERENCE COMMITTEE RATIONALE: The Committee cited existing AMA policy (H-320.961) which supports measures that would prevent the retrospective denial of payment for services for which a physician had obtained prior authorization.
