RESOLVED: That MSMS vigorously advocate for its membership by informing the Michigan health plans of the American Medical Association policy H-70.926 and insisting that the health plans respect and abide by the spirit and the specifics of AMA Policy H-70.926, which states that post-payment audits, post-payment down codes, and other similar requests for recoupment by third party payers be made within one year of the date the claim is submitted or within the same amount of time permitted for submission of the claim, whichever is less.
