RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to increase theprioritization of and aggressively seek, by legislative or other means, restrictions or removal of access to physician-specific or patient-specific prescribing data by the pharmaceutical industry, including access provided by ERISA plans.RATIONALE: The Committee heard testimony supporting the need to address this issue at the federal level and to ask the AMA to step up its current efforts. In addition, the issue of both physician-specific data and patient-specific data must be addressed in these efforts.
