RESOLVED: That effective with the 2014 dues year, Life members of MSMS will be invoiced for full or part time dues based upon their work status and moved to Active membership if they pay dues; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That Retired members of MSMS will be invoiced for a membership maintenance fee, as may be set by the Society, to cover the expense of publications and other Society expenditures; and be it further RESOLVED: That Life or Retired members who do not choose to pay dues or the membership maintenance fee will be transferred to a newly established membership category, Emeritus Member, and will receive no benefits in the Society, except for specific goods or services that they may purchase.RATIONALE: The Committee considered Resolutions 7-11, 8-11, and 40-11 together; however, believed the resolutions warrant more information for consideration to address specific issues about the impact on the county societies, expected loss revenue to MSMS due to a change in membership category, and whether or not prolonging the life membership category would be useful.
