RESOLVED: That MSMS oppose calls for mandatory medication reconciliation to be done on patients discharged from the emergency department; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to oppose mandatory medication reconciliation on patients discharged from the emergency department.RATIONALE: The Committee amended the resolution in recognition of National Patient Safety Goal 8, NPSG.08.04.01, which provides an exception to mandatory medication reconciliation in emergency departments. The author accepted this friendly amendment.
