RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to endorse medical staff bylaws that would require nine monthly medical staff meetings per year; and be it further RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to endorse medical staff bylaws that would require members of the medical staff to attend four meetings per year to maintain hospital privileges.REFERENCE COMMITTEE RATIONALE: Although the Committee agreed that communication among medical staff has decreased in recent years, it felt that this resolution could undermine the autonomy of each medical staff and could impose considerable demands on physicians who practice at several hospitals.
