RESOLVED: That MSMS deny or withdraw membership from any physician who has lost his or her specialty society membership due to provision of false expert witness testimony; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to consider adoption of a policy to deny or withdraw membership from any physician who has lost his or her specialty society membership due to provision of false expert witness testimony.RATIONALE: The Committee was concerned that this resolution did not include due process for affected members. Testimony included information on existing procedures at the AMA and MSMS that could be used to report a member physician who gives false testimony.
