RESOLVED: That MSMS support the concept that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) should require the manufacturers of all medications to develop and publish an appropriate FDA approved patient information brochures, written in plain, spoken language, listing the risks and benefits of each medications and that this brochure will be given to the patient with their prescription; and be it further RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to seek appropriate rules from the FDA and/or legislation that would require the manufacturers of all medications to develop and publish an appropriate FDA approved patient information brochure, written in plain, spoken language, listing the risks and benefits of each medication and require that pharmacies give the appropriate FDA approved information brochure when medications are dispensed.
