RESOLVED: That MSMS oppose House Bill 4771 that prevents employers within the public or private sectors from providing medical benefits to domestic partners.RATIONALE: The Committee made this change to the resolution because it addresses the portion of this legislative issue that has not yet been resolved by the legislature. House Bill 4770, as referenced in the body of the resolution has already been passed into law and will likely not be revisited in the near future. However, House Bill 4771 remains in the House of Representatives and could yet be taken up by the Legislature again this session.
