RESOLVED: That MSMS clearly outline the operating agreement of its relationship with Medical Advantage Group (MAG), clearly specify the marketing relationship and cost MAG has when utilizing MSMS’s name, seminars, venues, bulletins, etc, and divulge its total financial ownership and control it has in MAG; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS request that Medical Advantage Group (MAG) outline the ownership of the 250 physicians who are invested in MAG, who benefit from the success of MAG at potentially the detriment of individual physician organizations in the state; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS grant physician organizations two permanent positions on the MSMS Board filled by representatives from two physician organizations that have equal to or greater than 75 percent of their members who are paid members of MSMS and their county medical societies and if more than two physician organizations are eligible for board seats they would elect their representatives to the board.REFERENCE COMMITTEE RATIONALE: During testimony, representatives from Medical Advantage Group (MAG) presented to the Committee informational reports that addressed m enterprise of which MSMS is one of three shareholder groups, and that MAG is a physician service organization that is not in direct competition with other POs. The Committee also felt that it would be inappropriate to grant representation to any physician group that is not based solely on membership within MSMS, as MSMS Bylaws dictate.any of the concerns of the resolution.
