RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to work with the Joint Commission to include the availability of professional librarians in hospitals as a necessary precondition for Joint Commission credentialing.RATIONALE: The resolution is consistent with AMA policy, H-215.987, which lends its support to efforts which will maintain Health Sciences Libraries at a level which ensures adequate learning resources for the present and future. The Committee believed that this implies the availability of librarians.
