RESOLVED: That MSMS seek legislation that would ban the use of lead wheel weights in Michigan; and be it further RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask that the AMA seek either policy or legislation that would ban lead wheel weights in the United States; and be it further RESOLVED: That MSMS join the National Lead Free Wheel Weight Initiative; and be it further RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask that the AMA join and support the National Lead Free Wheel Weight Initiative.RATIONALE: The Committee felt that since there is a greater potential for lead contamination and there are suitable and available alternatives that are non-lead, it was in the best interest of the Committee to support the resolution.
