RESOLVED: That MSMS support efforts that provide job protection to medicalprofessionals who are military reservists while they are away on a tour of duty; and be it furtherRESOLVED: That MSMS work with the AMA to support efforts and legislation that provide job protection to medical professionals who are military reservists while they are away on a tour of duty. RATIOANALE: The resolution was amended to focus on medical professionals and remove references to legislative action. The Committee did agree that MSMS should assist professionals that may be returning from serving in the military reserves. However, the Committee wanted to limit the need to come up with legislative requirements that could mandate job protection without any regard for community needs or the employment arrangement of the physician.
