RESOLVED: That the Michigan Delegation to the AMA ask the AMA to study the feasibility of requiring hospitals to provide and pay for interpreter services for the follow-up care of patients that physicians are required to accept as a result of that patient’s emergency room visit.REFERENCE COMMITTEE RATIONALE: The Committee elected to redirect the issue to the AMA in light of uncertainty with AMA policy and possible legal issues involving Stark provisions.
