RESOLVED: That MSMS seek appropriate new coding, regulatory, benefit design or legislative policies that would provide full reimbursement to physicians providing needed translation services to patients in the office setting.RATIONALE: The Committee believes that this issue is best addressed through MSMS education efforts pertaining to physicians’ rights and responsibilities under the law. Such efforts shall include an update of the current MSMS Legal Alert, Legal Requirements for Treating Hearing Impaired Patients and Patients with Limited English Proficiency, and highlighting the availability of such document.
